12 42 500 Removing and installing or replacing battery positive lead (between alternator, starter motor and battery positive support point) (N62)

Switch off ignition. Disconnect battery negative lead. Follow instructions for disconnecting and connecting battery .

Remove INTAKE MANIFOLD . Detach battery positive lead from support point. Remove HEATER BULKHEAD . Remove GENERATOR DRIVE BELT 4.4L (N62) . Detach battery positive lead from alternator.

Tightening torque, see ENGINE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM - TIGHTENING TORQUES . Remove reinforcement plate. Remove heat shield from starter motor. Detach battery positive lead from starter motor. Remove battery positive lead.
