64 11 274 Replacing water valve for heater

WARNING: Danger of scalding!
Only perform this work after engine has cooled down.

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Disconnect coolant hoses from water hose for heater.

Unfasten plug connection (1) and disconnect.

Release spring clamps (2) and detach coolant hoses.

Pull out water valve for heater (3) towards top.

Installation:

Fill and vent cooling system. See 17 00 005 DRAINING OFF AND TOPPING UP COOLANT .

Installation:

Make sure water valve (1) is correctly seated in grommets (2) and rubber mount (3).

If necessary, replace grommets (2) and rubber mount (3).
