61 20 900 Disconnecting and connecting battery negative lead

Follow INSTRUCTIONS FOR DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING BATTERY
Necessary preliminary tasks:
Version with intelligent battery sensor (IBS):
Loosen nut (1).
Tightening torque: 5 Nm
IMPORTANT:
Do not under any circumstances use force to pull off pole shoe.
Do not under any circumstances release socket-head cap screw of IBS (2).
Detach battery negative lead (3) with IBS (2) in upward direction, lay to one side and secure.
Version without intelligent battery sensor (IBS):
Disconnect battery negative lead (1).
IMPORTANT:
Cover battery negative terminal post and secure negative lead (1) at side.
Tightening torque: 5 Nm

Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove battery cover or open right luggage compartment trim panel 51 47 220 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING TRUNK TRIM PANEL ON RIGHT SIDE PANEL .
Disconnect battery negative lead (1).
IMPORTANT:
Cover battery negative terminal post and secure negative lead (1) at side.
Tightening torque: 5 Nm
