13 63 590 Replacing fuel pump relay

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Read out fault memory of DME control unit.
Switch off ignition.
Open glovebox.

Unclip pin (1) from retaining strap (2).

Unclip pin (1) from shock absorber (2).

Turn catches (1) through 90° and remove trim (2).

Detach fuel pump relay (1).

NOTE: For improved clarity, the glovebox is not shown. After removal of fuel pump relay and during engine starting sequence:

Fuel pump no longer starts up
Engine fails to start.

Installation:

Read out fault memory of DME control unit.

Check stored fault messages.

Rectify faults.

Now clear the fault memory.
