13 62 560 Removing and installing/replacing air mass flow sensor (M54)

IMPORTANT: Make sure your hands are clean.

Avoid contamination by lubricants and greases that contain oil.

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

Unlock and detach plug connection (1). Loosen screws (2).

Remove HFM sensor (3) in direction of arrow.

IMPORTANT: Grip HFM sensor (1) in upper area only.

Installation: 

Pay attention to retaining groove (2).

Check sealing ring (3) for damage and replace if necessary.

Check NTC pellet (4) for contamination and damage.

IMPORTANT: Avoid contamination of flange geometry (2) by lubricants containing oil and foreign bodies (dust).

Installation: 

Pay attention to locating pin (1).

Assemble engine.

Check function of DME.
