63 21 183 Removing and refitting/replacing left or right rear light as fitted from 03/2010 (on tailgate)

Special tools required:

00 9 318

IMPORTANT: Read and comply with notes on protection against electrostatic damage (ESD PROTECTION) .

Necessary preliminary work

Remove LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT LIGHT .

Unfasten plug connection (1) and disconnect.

Slacken nut (2) until clamping claw (3) can be routed past tailgate (4).

Tightening torque 63 21 3AZ .

Installation note:

Make sure clamping claw (3) is correctly seated on tailgate (4).

IMPORTANT: Risk of damage!
Tape off tailgate with suitable protective film (1).

Lever out rear light (2) with special tool 00 9 318 in direction of arrow.

Installation note:

Make sure gap is uniform all round between rear light (2) and tailgate.

Installation note:

Position tabs (1) of rear light exactly over side edge of tailgate.

Make sure sealing frame (2) is correctly seated.

If necessary, replace SEALING FRAME (2).

Replacement:

If necessary, remove BULBS .
