Installing Side Wall

Clean all bonding surfaces on vehicle, on the new part and on the reinforcement plates with cleaning agent R1.

Apply adhesive to reinforcement plates.

Install reinforcement plates.

Apply adhesive in area (1).

Apply sealant to cavity acoustic baffles See 41 00... INSTALLING A CAVITY ACOUSTIC BAFFLE (EXPANDED) or 41 00... INSTALLING A CAVITY ACOUSTIC BAFFLE (NOT EXPANDED) in areas (2).

Install side panel with a second person helping.

NOTE: When installing side panel, make sure there is sufficient adhesive on bonding surfaces.
After adjusting side panel to fit, tighten nuts of reinforcement plates (1).
Secure side panel in area of reinforcement plates with gripping pliers and rivet with blind rivets.

In areas (2) to (4) use punch rivets N4.

In areas (5), screw in three screws before the adhesive hardens.

NOTE: When fastening in the screws, ensure that no adhesive reaches the screw connection!

Tighten the nuts of the universal reinforcement plate (1).

Use 8 punch rivets N4 in area (2).

In the area of the bolting point (3) of the tailgate support, install an N5 punch rivet.

Once the adhesive has hardened in area (1) and in the area of the side sill, fit one EMC SCREW in each area.
