- Disconnect battery (FR number: 61 20 900)
- Remove front windshield (FR number: 51 31 000)
- Remove tailgate (FR number: 41 62 000)
- Removing headlining. (version with slide/tilt sunroof) (FR number: 51 44 013)
- Remove glass slide/tilt sunroof (FR number: 51 13 080)
- If necessary, remove roof railing (FR number: 51 13 305)
- Remove left roof trim strip (FR number: 51 13 280)
- Remove right roof trim strip (FR number: 51 13 280)
- Remove roof antenna (FR number: 65 20 035)
- Partially release wiring harness
- Slightly release tailgate seal
