51 47 315 Removing and installing / replacing front carpet for passenger compartment

Necessary preliminary tasks 

Depending on version: 

Remove holder (1).

Undo nut (2) and remove ground cable.

Cut out carpet at cutting edge (3) and (4) left/right.

IMPORTANT: Risk of damage!
Start cuts towards center of vehicle as far as is possible to guarantee that cutting edges are covered by storage compartment and/or trim panels.
Pay attention to cables when cutting.

Move back cable through carpet.

Feed out carpet to rear/top.

Installation note: 

Apertures (1) serve as alignment points when fitting carpet (2).

Replacement 

Lay removed carpet over new one and transfer cuts to new carpet.
