12 14 513 Replacing pulse generator on right exhaust camshaft (N62, N62TU)

(cylinder bank 1 to 4)

Necessary Preliminary Tasks:

Read out fault memory of DME control unit; if necessary, work through test schedules
Switch off ignition.
Remove acoustic cover.
Remove right ignition coil cover.

Unlock and detach plug connection (1).

Release screw.

Remove pulse generator (2).

Installation:

Replace sealing ring and coat with anti-friction rubber coating.

NOTE: Interrogate fault memory of DME control unit. Check stored fault messages. Rectify faults. Now clear the fault memory
