64 12 577 Replacing changeover valve for independent/auxiliary heater

WARNING: Danger of scalding! Only perform the following tasks on an engine that has cooled down. Follow instructions for working on cooling system. See 17 00... INSTRUCTIONS FOR WORKING ON COOLING SYSTEM .

NOTE: Disconnect coolant hoses from changeover valve for independent/auxiliary heater.

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove front left wheel trim. See 51 71 040 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING FRONT LEFT OR RIGHT WHEEL ARCH COVER .

NOTE:

Disconnect coolant hoses from changeover valve for independent/auxiliary heater.

WARNING: Danger of scalding!
Only perform the following tasks on an engine that has cooled down.

Unfasten plug connection (1) and disconnect.

Release spring clips (2) and detach coolant hoses.

Unscrew nuts (3).

Remove changeover valve for independent/auxiliary heater (4) in direction of arrow.

Installation:

Top up coolant and vent cooling system.
