Remove lower trim from instrument panel, see 51 45 181 Removing and installing/replacing trim for instrument panel, bottom right .

NOTE: Driver's seat removed for purposes of clarity.

Release screw (1).

Release retaining clips (3).

Feed side carpet (2) towards front out of center console.

Installation:

Replace faulty retaining clips (3) and retainers (4).
