54 34 347 Removing And Installing/Replacing Rear Roof Frame Seal

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

WARNING:

Soft top becomes pressureless without a warning signal.

For all work, secure soft top with a suitable support tool against collapsing.

Ensure Convertible top is supported in the middle.

Ignition must remain switched off during the repair work.

Failure to comply with this instruction may result in the hydraulic valves incurring preliminary damage.

Unclip insert part (1) from rear roof frame seal on left and right.

Pope window guide out of seal carrier.

Installation: 

Make sure seal (2) is correctly seated on seal carrier (1).

Lever soft top fabric welt out of window guides (1) on left and right.

Pull window guide away from tension bar.

Installation: 

Rear window guide must be flush with middle window guide.

Side windows must run into window guide correctly and rest in window guide over entire width.

Check function.

Check adjustment of side window  and adjust if necessary. Refer to 51 37 154 ADJUSTING REAR LEFT OR RIGHT SIDE WINDOW .
