54 34 340 Removing And Installing/Replacing Cowl Panel Seal

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

WARNING:

Soft top becomes pressureless without a warning signal.

For all work, secure soft top with a suitable support tool against collapsing.

Ensure Convertible top is supported in the middle.

Ignition must remain switched off during the repair work.

Failure to comply with this instruction may result in the hydraulic valves incurring preliminary damage.

Pop cowl panel seal on left and right out of roof frame.

Installation: 

Make sure seal is correctly seated on roof frame (seal carrier).

Installation: 

Make sure seal (2) is correctly seated on seal carrier (1).

Release screws (1).

Remove cowl panel seal with clamping strip.

Pull cowl panel seal off clamping strip.

Installation: 

Cowl panel seal must be flush with middle window guide.

Side window glass must run into cowl panel seal correctly and rest in cowl panel seal over entire width.

Check function.

Check adjustment of side windows  and adjust if necessary. Refer to 51 37 154 ADJUSTING REAR LEFT OR RIGHT SIDE WINDOW .
