51 17 324 Removing And Installing/Replacing Trim Strip On Convertible Top Compartment Lid

IMPORTANT:

Risk of damage!

Make sure body or paint surfaces are not damaged by scratches.

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

Release nuts (1) on inside of convertible top compartment lid (2).

Close convertible top compartment lid (2).

Remove trim strip (3) straight upwards.

IMPORTANT:

Risk of damage!

When the trim strip (3) is removed, the screws could work loose and fall onto the painted attachment parts.

Installation: 

Seal (1) must not be damaged.

Make sure seal (1) is correctly seated on trim strip (3).

If necessary, push all screw fittings (2) into markings of trim strip (3).

IMPORTANT:
  • Carry trim strip by its middle section only (risk of damage)
  • Perform installation work with a second person helping
  • Prepositioning of trim strip
  • Make sure trim strip runs parallel convertible top compartment lid
