51 11 050 Removing And Installing/Replacing Carrier For Front Bumper Trim

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

NOTE: Description is shown on the E82 by way of example. There may be differences in detail in the case of other models.
IMPORTANT: During replacement, all the cavities of the carrier (1) and the crashbox (2) must be sealed with cavity sealant.

Version with brake air duct: 

Release screw (1) on cooling air guide (2) on left/right.

Remove cooling air guide (2).

NOTE:

The following work step ends here: 

"Removing and installing brake air duct".

Depending on version: 

Release screws (1) on carrier (2).

Remove shock absorbers (3) on left/right.

Release washer fluid hose (4) from carrier (2).

If necessary, disconnect plug connections (1) on fanfare horn.

Release blind rivets (2) on left/right.

Release nuts (3) on left/right.

Tightening torque, see 51 11 2AZ in 51 11 FRONT BUMPER .

If necessary, remove fanfare horn holder (4).

Remove carrier (5).

Installation: 

Blind rivets (2) are only required for fitting in the factory and do not have to be refitted.
