33 33 001 Replacing left or right rear axle carrier compression strut

. Driving without compression struts is not permitted!

The rear axle carrier must be supported at the front if both compression struts have to be replaced!

Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove rear lip . See 51 47... REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING REAR LEFT OR RIGHT RAM-AIR LIP (CONVERTIBLE) or 51 47... REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING REAR LEFT OR RIGHT RAM-AIR LIP (COUPE) .
Release screws (2).
Installation:
Replace screws.
Tightening torque, see 33 33 2AZ
Release bolt (1) and remove compression strut.
Installation:
Check threads for damage; if necessary, repair with Helicoil thread inserts .
Tightening torque, see 33 33 1AZ
