12 14 523 Replacing pulse generator on inlet camshaft (N54, N54T)

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Read out fault memory of DME control unit.
Switch off ignition.
Remove fan cowl . See 17 11 035 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING FAN COWL WITH ELECTRIC FAN (N54, N54T) .

Unlock plug (1) and remove.

Release screw.

Tightening torque 12 14 3AZ, see 12 14 ELECTRONIC SHIFT UNITS OR CONTROL UNITS .

Remove pulse generator (2).

NOTE: Check stored fault messages.
Now clear the fault memory.
