71 60... Replacing gaiter for self-swinging-out trailer tow hitch (from 03/2007)

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove rear BUMPER TRIM .

Unclip cable holder (1).

Lever out gaiter (2) with special tool 00 9 317 (wedge) and slide in direction of arrow.

Swing out self-swinging-out trailer tow hitch.

Release screws (1) and remove socket (2).

Tightening torque: 5 Nm

Pull off gaiter (1) in direction of arrow from ball rod.
