64 11 274 Replacing water valve for heater

Only perform this work after engine has cooled down.

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

NOTE: When removing water hoses which are located in the upper area of the cooling system, disconnecting them using Special Tool 13 3 010 prevents a large-scale escape of coolant.

Unfasten plug connection (1) and disconnect.

Release spring clamps (2) and detach coolant hoses.

Pull out water valve for heater (3) towards top.

Installation: 

Fill and vent cooling system.  See 17 00 039 VENTING COOLING SYSTEM AND CHECKING FOR LEAKS (N62, N62TU) .

Installation: 

Make sure water valve (1) is correctly seated in grommets (2) and rubber mount (3).

If necessary, replace grommets (2) and rubber mount (3).
