51 34 171 Removing and installing/replacing rear left or right door window glass (Security)

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

IMPORTANT: The insides of the windows have a polycarbonate coating which must not be damaged or scratched.
Clean with antistatic plastic cleaner only.

Door window glass is rigidly installed with hexagon socket head cap screws (1). Power window unit is not installed.

Slacken lock nut on hexagon socket head cap screws (1) at front/rear, release hexagon socket head caps screws until door window glass can be fed out towards top rear with special tool 51 3 010 .

Installation: 

In order to avoid damaging the door window glass, tighten the hexagon socket head cap screws only to such an extent that the door window glass rests parallel with and without play on the upper stop. If necessary, check play by moving door window glass with special tool 51 3 010 . Tighten down lock nuts on hexagon socket head cap screws again.
