25 11 211 Replacing shift arm for shift-lever mount

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove shift lever
Support transmission with workshop jack
Remove transmission cross-member . See 22 31 050 REPLACING CROSS-MEMBER FOR TRANSMISSION MOUNTING .
Remove transmission support block (N62/N62TU) . See 23 00 037 INSTALLING REPLACEMENT TRANSMISSION (GS6-53BZ/DZ) .
Remove transfer case (AWD).

Lever support bearing (1) out of fixture.

Installation:

Install support bearing (1) with arrow (2) facing upwards in holder.

Unlock bearing pin (1) in direction of arrow and remove.

Installation:

Grease bearing pin.

Remove shift arm.

Detach support bearing (1) from shift arm.

Installation:

Grease bearing journal.

Attach support bearing (1) with opening (3) towards rear on shift arm.

Replace bearing bush if damaged.

Press out bearing bush.

Coat new bearing bush with Circolight and then press into shift arm until side flanges of bearing bush protrude uniformly.
