12 14 522 Replacing pulse generator on left inlet camshaft (N62, N62TU)

(cylinder bank 5 to 8)

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Read out fault memory of DME control unit; if necessary, work through test schedules
Switch off ignition
Remove acoustic cover by removing 4 screws. Raise cover and remove toward front.

Remove left ignition coil cover

Release plug connector (1) and pull off.

Release screw.

Remove pulse generator (2).

Installation:

Replace sealing ring and coat with antiseize agent.

NOTE: Now clear the fault memory.
