12 51 001 Replacing wiring harness section for engine

Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Read out fault memory of DME control unit
- Switch off ignition
- Disconnect BATTERY NEGATIVE LEAD
- Remove CHARGE-AIR DUCT
- Remove INTAKE AIR MANIFOLD
Unlock cover (1) with slide (3). Release screws (2).
Remove cover (1).
Unlock all plugs (1) of DME control unit and disconnect.
Short plug:
Unlock slide (2) in bore holes (1) and pull out of housing.
Unlock tab (3), pull contact carrier (4) in direction of arrow out of housing.
Long plug:
Press locking tab (1) in direction of arrow and pull contact carrier (2) out of housing.
Unlock and disconnect all plug connections of engine wiring harness section in electronics box.

| Unlock plug on low-pressure sensor and disconnect | |||
| Unlock plug on A/C compressor and disconnect | |||
| Remove REAR UNDERBODY PROTECTION | |||
| Unlock plug connections on monitor sensors and disconnect | |||
| Unlock plug on oil condition sensor and disconnect | |||
