Removal & Installation

  1. Before proceeding, see AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS  . Disable air bag system. See DISABLING SYSTEM  under DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM. Remove right front seat and place on clean work surface. See FRONT SEATS  .
  2. Pull rear panel on one side at top toward rear slightly. At same time, firmly push toward middle of seat on other side at top. Upper spring clips will pop out. See Fig 1 . Pull rear panel up, out of lower guides.
  3. Unclip trim panel on front of seat cushion. Unhook seat cushion cover at all retaining points and remove seat cover. Pull trim threads out of eyelets in direction of arrow. See Fig 2 . Fold back padding and feed out sensor pad.
  4. To install, reverse removal procedure. Use NEW seat track screws. Tighten seat track screws and seat belt anchor bolt to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  . Activate air bag system. See ACTIVATING SYSTEM  under DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM.
