64 11 324 Replacing button caps of heater controls (E60/E61 to 02/2007, E63/E64 to 08/2007)

Special tools required: 

Turn temperature selector wheel (1) to stop (arrow).

NOTE: Air volume control (2) has no limit position.

Unclip the protective cap (1) of the temperature selector wheels and air flow controller with button cap (2) in direction of arrow.

Installation note:  Mark (1) must be aligned with mark (2) of the protective cap of the air flow controller (3).

Installation note:  Clip protective cap (1) of the left temperature selector wheel in with mark pointing to the left (arrow). Clip the protective cap of the right temperature selector wheel in with mark pointing to the right. Protective caps must audibly snap into place.

Mask button caps as shown with adhesive tape (1).

Lever off button caps (1) with special tool 00 9 341.

Remove adhesive tape (1). Pull light piece (2) out of the fixture of the operating facility using a suitable tool.

Detach the button caps (1) from the die cast tree (2). Carefully deburr the button caps, if applicable.

Clip light elements (1) into the button caps (2) as shown. Clip button caps into the operating unit. Installation note:  The button cap for air recirculation function has two light elements.

Check function of the air conditioning.
