51 16... Removing and installing/replacing center console cover

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Version without rear console:

Remove rear insert
Remove rear compartment fresh air grille . See 64 22 191 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING REAR CABIN FRESH-AIR GRILLE
Remove rear storage tray finisher

Version with rear console:

Remove rear console

Release screws (1) on storage compartment (2).

Version with center armrest (2):

Slide center armrest (2) forwards.

Lever out cap (3) and release screw underneath.

Open cover (1).

Feed out cover (1) with retaining plate (4) towards rear/top.
