33 11 271 Replacing rear cover gasket on rear differential

IMPORTANT: In event of oil loss, always check rear differential for traces of wear and damage.

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Draw off or drain and catch rear differential oil . See 00 11 259 OIL CHANGE IN REAR DIFFERENTIAL INCL. USED OIL DISPOSAL .
Remove rear differential

Select rear differential:

188L/188LW
215K
215L/215LW
215 with lock

After installation:

Add rear differential oil . See REAR AXLE - OPERATING FLUIDS .
