67 31 640 Removing And Installing/Replacing Drive For Backrest Head Adjustment (Comfort Seats In Rear Compartment)

Remove rear seat  . See 52 25 010 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING LEFT OR RIGHT REAR SEAT .

Detach retainers (1) in area (2).

Turn back backrest cover (3) in direction of arrow slightly.

NOTE: For purposes of clarity, illustration shows backrest cushion section removed.

Disconnect plug connection (1).

Release screws (2).

Detach drive for seat head adjustment (3) from drive shaft (4) and remove in direction of arrow.

Installation: 

Make sure spacer washers (1) are correctly seated.

If necessary, fix spacer washers (1) in place on metal tabs (2) of drive for backrest head adjustment (3).

Replacement: 

Initialize  drive unit for backrest head adjustment. See 67 31 ... NOTES ON INITIALIZING ELECTRIC SEAT SERVODRIVES .
