52 24 410 Replacing Backrest Cover (Normal) For Left Or Right Rear Seat

Special tools required: 

• 52 0 050 

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

• Remove rear seat.  See 52 25 010 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING LEFT OR RIGHT REAR SEAT .
• Remove rear seat backrest. 
• Remove rear head restraint.  See 52 14 390 REMOVING AND INSTALLING OR REPLACING FRONT LEFT OR RIGHT HEAD RESTRAINTS (NORMAL/ELECTRIC) .

Unhook backrest cover in areas (1).

Detach retainers in areas (2).

Remove remnants of retainers from backrest cover and/or backrest frame.

Installation: 

Bend new retainers closed with pliers 52 0 050  .

Unlock catch (1) on rear side of backrest on left and right.

Remove head restraint guides (2) towards top.

Remove backrest cover (3).

Release retainers in area (1).

Remove backrest cover from padding.

Remove remnants of retainers from backrest cover and/or padding.

Installation: 

Bend new retainer (2) closed with pliers 52 0 050  .

2. Support
3. Trim thread in support
4. Trim thread in seat cover
5. Seat cover

Pull trim threads (1) out of seat cover.

Installation: 

Slide trim threads (1) into new seat cover. If necessary, cut mounting for trim threads.
