51 45 360 Removing And Installing/Replacing Wood Trim On Left

Special tools required: 

Remove  left fresh-air grill.

Remove instrument cluster trim. This task is described  in 51 45 363 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING CENTER WOOD TRIM ON INSTRUMENT PANEL .

Release nut (1).

Installation: 

Tightening torque, 51 45 2AZ.  See BODY EQUIPMENT - TIGHTENING TORQUES -- ALPINA .

Release screw (1).

With special tool 00 9 321  (fishbone) through opening for fresh air grill, unclip wood trim (3) next to retaining pin (2).

Remove wood trim (3) in direction of arrow.

Installation: 

Following parts of wood trim (4) must not be damaged or missing:

  1. Shaft
  2. Speed nut
  3. Stud

Installation: 

If necessary, replace damaged clip (1) (Hutfix).

Replacing clip (Hutfix): 

  1. Turn clip (1) with screwdriver to left by approx. 60°.
  2. Lever out clip (1) from below.

Installation: 

  1. Insert clip (1) from above and snap into place at bottom.

    Then turn clip (1) with screwdriver to right by approx. 60°.

  2. Clip (1) in end position.
