51 11 ... Fitting Front Spoiler (BMW ALPINA B7)

NOTE: Bumper trim (1) can already by supplied cut to size.

Cut uncut bumper trim (1) to dimensions (A to G).

A = 85 mm

B = 600 mm

C= 45 mm

D= 250 mm

E = 145 mm

F = 60 mm

G = 50 mm

Place front spoiler on cut bumper trim and check for accuracy of fit; if necessary, rework bumper trim.

Remove cover from towing eye.

Grind off ridges (1) flat with bumper trim (2).

Clean adhesive area of bumper trim with spirit.

Lay out clamp or screw clamp ready.

NOTE: The operation is shown on the right side; proceed in the same way for the left side.

Pull off complete liner (1).

Pull off liner (2) approx. 60 mm only at start and secure with adhesive tape to inside of front spoiler.

Pull off liner (3) approx. 60 mm only at start and secure with adhesive tape to outside of front spoiler.

Clean front spoiler in areas (A and B) with spirit.

For application of adhesive in areas (A and B), see next work step.

Apply adhesive bead (1 and 2) dia. = 5 mm in area (A and B).

A = Cutout, towing eye

B = Side between adhesive tapes

Place front spoiler (1) over towing eye cutout (3) on bumper trim (2), align and stick on.

Front spoiler (1) must be seated flush with bumper trim (2).

Gap (A) in area of towing eye area (3) must be the same on both sides.

Secure front spoiler (1) in adhesive area with clamp/screw clamp to bumper trim (2).

NOTE: Fit protection between clamp/screw clamp and painted surfaces.

Remove emerging adhesive immediately.

NOTE: First feed bonding from towing eye cutout to right.
Then repeat procedure to left.

Pull off liner (3) from adhesive tapes on inside and outside in approx. 100 mm increments and simultaneously press front spoiler (1) down on bumper trim (2).

Front spoiler (1) must rest in area (A) without gaps on bumper trim (2).

Secure front spoiler (1) in adhesive area with clamp/screw clamp to bumper trim (3).

NOTE: Fit protection between clamp/screw clamp and painted surfaces.

NOTE: Set down bumper trim without tension.
Allow adhesive to set for 24 hours at min. 15°C.
Mechanical strain permitted after no shorter than 2 days (e.g. car wash).
