34 41 280 Removing And Installing/Replacing Actuating Unit With Control Unit For Parking Brake (PBR)

IMPORTANT: With mechanical emergency release of actuating unit, max. torque at end stop 5 Nm.
After installing actuating unit:
  • Deactivate installation mode status with BMW diagnostic system.
  • Touch parking brake button three times at intervals of 5 seconds.
  • Carry out brake test on brake analyzer.
    • Drive car with rear axle only onto dynamic brake analyzer.
    • Engine off.
    • Touch parking brake button and ensure uniform increase.

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

Observe safety instructions on raising the vehicle.  See 00 ... ... LIFTING VEHICLE WITH A LIFTING PLATFORM .

Unfasten screws.

Installation: 

Tightening torque. See BRAKES - TIGHTENING TORQUES -- ALPINA .

Pull off plug (1).

Remove actuating unit with control unit.
