16 11 120 Removing And Installing / Replacing Expansion Tank For Tank Ventilation

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

Observe safety instructions when raising the vehicle.

Remove rear right wheel arch trim.

Release hose clamps (1-3) and detach lines from expansion tank:

Installation: 

Replace hose clamps.

  1. Tank vent
  2. Tank venting
  3. Scavenging air line

Detach rubber hose (1) from connection (2).

Unfasten hose clip (3).

Detach line (4) from expansion tank.

Installation: 

Replace hose clamps.

Unscrew nuts (1).

Lower expansion tank (2) with carbon canister (3).

Installation: 

Make sure expansion tank is correctly seated in rubber mounts (4).

Tightening torque. See FUEL SYSTEM - TIGHTENING TORQUES .
