16 11 060 Removing And Installing/Replacing Fuel Filler Pipe

IMPORTANT: After installing fuel filler pipe, check electrical resistance between metal filler bowl and wheel hub.
Measured value approx. 0.6 Ω

Draw off fuel from fuel tank.  See 16 00 005 DRAINING AND FILLING FUEL TANK .

Remove rear right wheel  . See 36 10 300 REMOVING OR INSTALLING FRONT OR REAR WHEEL .

Remove rear right wheel arch trim.

Observe safety instructions when raising the vehicle.

Release plastic nuts (1).

Installation: 

Tightening torque. See FUEL SYSTEM - TIGHTENING TORQUES .

Unfasten hose clip (1).

Withdraw fuel filler pipe from connecting hose.

Installation: 

Replace hose clip.

Tightening torque. See FUEL SYSTEM - TIGHTENING TORQUES .

Unfasten hose clip (1).

Detach hose from fuel filler pipe.

Release screw (2).

Withdraw fuel filler pipe (3) from rubber sleeve (4).

Installation: 

When installing fuel filler pipe, make sure rubber sleeve (4) is correctly seated.

Replace hose clip.

Tightening torque. See FUEL SYSTEM - TIGHTENING TORQUES .
