12 31 020 Removing And Installing/Replacing Alternator (N62)

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Disconnect battery negative lead. See 12 00 ... INSTRUCTIONS FOR DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING BATTERY .
Remove alternator drive belt. See 11 28 010 REPLACING ALTERNATOR DRIVE BELT (N62/N62TU) .

Disconnect plug (3) from alternator.

Unscrew nut (1).

Lay B+ line (2) to one side.

Release screws (1).

Remove alternator (2).

Installation:

Modify guide pulley (3) to new alternator (replace if necessary).

Check DME (alternator) for correct operation.
