12 31 020 Removing And Installing/Replacing Alternator (BMW ALPINA B7)

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Switch off ignition
Follow instructions for disconnecting and connecting battery . See 12 00 ... INSTRUCTIONS FOR DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING BATTERY .
Disconnect battery negative lead and cover
Remove alternator drive belt . See 11 28 010 REPLACING ALTERNATOR DRIVE BELT (N62/N62TU) .

Release screw (1).

NOTE: Remove special tool 11 3 340 prior to removing belt tensioner. Refer to 11 28 010 .

Release bolt (2) and remove belt tensioner.

Remove cover (3) and release screw underneath. Remove deflecting element (4).

Release screw (5).

Carefully press hydraulic lines (6) to one side.

Pull alternator forwards until connections are accessible.

Unlock plug (1) and remove.

Remove cover (2) and release nut underneath.

Disconnect battery positive lead from alternator.

Remove alternator.
