11 37 006 Removing And Installing/Replacing Left Eccentric Shaft (N62 To 9/03): Notes

cylinder bank 5 to 8)

Remove servomotor for left eccentric shaft. See 11 37 022 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING SERVOMOTOR FOR LEFT ECCENTRIC SHAFT (N62/N62TU) .

Remove ignition coils on cylinder bank 5 to 8.

Remove spark plugs on cylinder bank 5 to 8.

Remove left cylinder head cover. See 11 12 005 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/SEALING LEFT CYLINDER HEAD COVER (N62/N62TU) .

Remove inlet and exhaust adjustment unit on left side. See 11 36 047 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING INLET AND EXHAUST ADJUSTMENT UNITS ON LEFT SIDE (N62/N62TU) .

Remove left inlet camshaft.  See 11 31 032 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING LEFT INLET CAMSHAFT (N62 FROM 9/03 AND N62TU) .

IMPORTANT: Eccentric shafts up to 2/2003: 
Eccentric shafts of cylinders 1 to 4 and 5 to 8 are different and must not be mixed up. The side of the eccentric shaft on which the lever for the torsion spring is fitted must not be mixed up.
Eccentric shafts from 2/2003: 
Eccentric shafts of cylinders 1 to 4 and 5 to 8 are identical parts.
Depending on the side on which the lever for the torsion spring and the magnet wheel are fitted, the eccentric shafts are used for cylinders 1 to 4 or 5 to 8.
