18 12 045 Removing And Installing/Replacing Central Muffler (N62)

Special tools required: 

WARNING: Scalding hazard!
Only perform these tasks after exhaust system has cooled down.

Support center muffler with lifter and special tool 31 2 220  and secure against falling out.

Unfasten screws.

Remove reinforcement plate (1).

While installed, mark length (B) with aid of replacement muffler on faulty center muffler.

Cut both exhaust pipes with special tool 00 2 210  at marked points and deburr.

While installed, mark length (C) with aid of replacement muffler on faulty center muffler.

Cut exhaust pipe with special tool 00 2 210  at marked points and deburr.

Connect center muffler and front muffler by means of clamping sleeves.

Connect center muffler to rear muffler by means of clamping sleeve.
