65 83 020 Removing and installing (replacing) Car Infotainment Computer (CIC)

Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Disconnect battery negative lead . See 12 00... INSTRUCTIONS FOR DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING BATTERY .
- Remove middle trim for instrument panel . See 51 45 310 REMOVING AND INSTALLING (REPLACING) CENTER TRIM FOR INSTRUMENT PANEL .
IMPORTANT:
When working on trim panel components, make sure that the sensitive surfaces are not scratched or damaged.
Release screws (1). Tightening torque 6 Nm . Feed out car infotainment computer (2) towards front. Disconnect plug connections and remove car infotainment computer (2).
Unlock plug connections (2)/(3) and disconnect. Remove CIC (1).
Only for US models with satellite tuner: When replacing the CIC unit, additional work is required! See Replacing satellite tuner from 09/2009 .
