51 33 ... Slightly loosen power window regulator to remove door lock in left or right front door

Special tools required: 

Raise side window glass to dimension (A). Dimension (A) is the distance between the window cavity cover strip and upper edge of the side window glass.

E70: Measurement (A) = 390 mm

E71, E72: Measurement (A) = 360 mm

WARNING: Risk of injury by trapping! Power window motor is not disconnected. The power window motor must be de-engergised before the sound insulation is removed.

Remove key from ignition.

Lock the vehicle.

Open the vehicle again.

Leave the ignition key outside the vehicle.

NOTE: Wait 2-3 minutes until the power window motor is de-energized.
NOTE: To remove door lock, move rear section of sound insulation (1) toward center.

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Place special tool 00 9 314 on the holder (1) for the window glass (2). Press special tool downward between the window glass and the holder in the direction of the arrow, until the catch mechanism of the holder (1) unlocks. Push window glass (2) upward out of the holder (1).

NOTE: For clearer illustration, shown with sound insulation removed. Avoid damaging the paint finish. (Risk of corrosion)
NOTE: Unscrew nuts (1). Feed out rear part of power window regulator (2) and place down on door floor. Tightening torque, see 51 33 1AZ in 51 33 POWER WINDOWS, FRONT .
