51 32 390 Removing And Installing / Replacing Decorative Strip On Front Left Or Right Door

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Open door window.
Remove gasket on door seam/roof frame . See 51 21 360 REPLACING SEAL FOR DOOR SEAM/ROOF FRAME ON LEFT OR RIGHT FRONT DOOR .
Remove rear-view mirror on front door. See 51 16 000 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING MIRROR ON LEFT OR RIGHT FRONT DOOR .

NOTE: Start removing decorative strip (1) at front (A) and disconnect at rear (B).

Pull off decorative strip (1) in direction of arrow from retainers (2).

Installation:

If necessary, replace faulty retainers (1 and 2) on decorative strip (3).

Make sure retainers are installed in correct positions.

Thin retainer (silver)
Thick retainer (black)
