51 21 280 Removing And Installing Or Replacing Door Brake On Left Or Right Front Door

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Close door windows
Remove sound insulation in front area only . See 51 48 060 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING SOUND INSULATION IN LEFT OR RIGHT FRONT DOOR .

NOTE: Secure front door against falling closed.

Lever out seal (1).

Unfasten screws (2 and 3).

Installation:

E60/E61 tightening torque:

Tightening torque. See BODY EQUIPMENT - TIGHTENING TORQUES .

Remove door brake (1) via cutout (2).

Installation:

Following parts of door retainer (3) must not be damaged:

Hinge
Thread

Seal (1) must not be damaged.
