34 41 220 Removing and Installing/Replacing All Handbrake Shoes

Special tools required: 

Installation: 

After completing tasks, adjust handbrake. See 34 41 006 Adjusting Parking Brake 

Disconnect return springs (1) with brake spring pliers.

Installation: 

Check return springs (1) and replace if necessary.

Return springs (1) must not be mixed up.

Pay attention to installation position of adjustment screw (2).

Apply a thin coat of grease to bush and screw threads, Refer to BMW Service Operating Fluids.

NOTE: Illustration does not show wheel hub.

Turn clamping pins (1) with special tool 34 4 000 (See 34 4 000 ALLEN KEY )through 90° and disconnect.

Remove brake shoes (2).
