33 11 271 Replacing Rear Cover Gasket On Rear Differential

IMPORTANT:
In event of oil loss, always check rear differential for traces of wear and damage.
Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Drain and catch or draw off rear differential oil . See 00 11 259 OIL CHANGE IN REAR DIFFERENTIAL INCL. USED OIL DISPOSAL .
- Remove rear differential . See 33 10 010 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING REAR DIFFERENTIAL .
NOTE:

Select rear differential:
- 188K
- 188L / 188LW
- 215L / 215LW (with increased trailer weight)
After installation:
- Add rear differential oil . See REAR AXLE - OPERATING FLUIDS .
