32 41 033 Removing And Installing Power Steering Pump For Power Steering Gear With Active Front Steering (N62TU)

IMPORTANT: Adhere to the utmost cleanliness. Do not allow any dirt to enter the hydraulic system.
Seal off hydraulic lines with plugs.

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Draw off and dispose of hydraulic fluid from fluid reservoir
Remove belt pulley . See 32 41 100 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING BELT PULLEY ON VANE PUMP FOR POWER STEERING .
Remove fan cowl . See 17 11 035 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING FAN COWL WITH ELECTRIC FAN (N52K) .
Remove front assembly underside protection . See 51 47 490 REMOVING AND INSTALLING / REPLACING FRONT ASSEMBLY UNDERSIDE PROTECTION .

Release union nut (2) and detach pressure line from power steering pump.

Release hose clamp (1) and detach suction line from power steering pump.

Disconnect plug connection on rear side of power steering pump.

Installation:

Make sure hydraulic lines are laid without tension and with sufficient spacing to adjoining components.

Align suction line by way of marking to connection on power steering pump.

Tightening torque 32 41 4AZ.

Release screws (1, 2) and remove power steering pump.

Installation:

Make sure screws are installed in correct positions.

Screw (1) M10x50
Screw (2) M10x130

Tightening torque 32 41 3AZ.

After installation:

Fill and bleed hydraulic system . See 32 13 006 BLEEDING POWER STEERING (VERSION WITH DYNAMIC DRIVE) or 32 13 006 BLEEDING POWER STEERING UNIT .
Check pipe connections for leaks
