Removal & Installation (Rear)

Remove wheels. Remove cover plug (1). See Figure . On right side, disconnect plug connection for brake pad wear sensor. Inspect sensor and replace as necessary. On both sides, remove caliper guide screws (2). See Figure . Lift out retaining spring (3). See Figure . Withdraw brake caliper backward. Turn piston fully back with Special Tool (34 10 50). See Figure . When turning back the piston, watch the brake fluid level in the expansion tank, as overflowing brake fluid can destroy the paint. Remove brake pads. Inner brake pad is located with its spring in the piston. See Figure .
