Parking Brake

NOTE:
Accurate adjustment of parking brake is only possible if parking brake Bowden cables and all moving parts move easily and function correctly.
Basic parking brake adjustment is necessary:
- When replacing parking brake shoes.
- When replacing brake discs.
- When actuation stroke exceeds 10 teeth.
- When replacing parking brake Bowden cables.
To adjust parking brake, perform the following:
- Using Special Tool (32 1 030), press stop (1) of adjusting spring back until retaining hook (2) engages in stop (1). See Fig 1. This will lock adjuster unit (ASZE).
- Remove one wheel lug bolt on each rear wheel. Turn wheel until adjustment screw is visible in lug bolt hole.
- Turn adjusting screw with a screwdriver until it is no longer possible to turn wheel. See Fig 2.
- Unfasten adjusting screw 6 notches.
- Lever restraint hook (2) outwards with a suitable screwdriver (1). See Fig 3. Restraint hook (2) must disengage from stop of adjusting spring. This will unlock adjuster unit (ASZE).
- Install and tighten wheel lug bolt to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
