63 12 870 Replacing Ignition Unit For Left Xenon Headlight (Up To 03/2005)

Necessary preliminary tasks:

M54, M67, N73 only:

Remove left intake filter housing . See 13 71 010 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING LEFT (OR RIGHT) INTAKE FILTER HOUSING (N73) .

N62 only:

Open lock and remove cover (1).

WARNING:

Version with xenon headlights: Danger to life due to high voltage! Therefore disconnect all components from voltage supply before removal.

Work on the entire xenon lighting system (ignition unit, control unit and lamp) may only be carried out by specialist personnel.

NOTE: Headlight removed for purposes of clarity.

Unlock catch (1) and remove high beam cover cap (2) in direction of arrow.

Turn ignition unit for xenon headlight (1) approx. 30° counterclockwise and detach. If necessary, grip retaining ring of lamp for xenon light (2) when unscrewing.

Disconnect plug connection (1) and remove ignition unit for xenon headlight (2).
