51 41 070 Removing and Installing/Replacing Upper Section On Left or Right Armrest

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove front door trim panel. See 51 41 000 REMOVING AND INSTALLING LEFT OR RIGHT FRONT DOOR TRIM PANEL
Remove rocker switch for window operation (front). See 61 31 115 REPLACING ROCKER SWITCH FOR SIDE WINDOW OPERATION (FRONT)

Pull out lock (1) on rear side of door trim (2) in direction of arrow.

Installation:

Slope on lock (1) must point to rear.

Installation:

Locks for left and right door trims are different:

For left door trim
For right door trim

NOTE: Place a clean cleaning cloth between screwdriver and bore hole (risk of damage).

Unlock upper section (1) over bore holes at front (2) and rear (3) in direction of arrow.

Pull upper section (1) in direction of arrow off armrest (2).

Installation:

Catches (1) and guide (2) of upper section (3) must not be damaged.
